I love this book. It is so revealing. There are few sections written by MJ himself, and others by his friends, co-workers, and family members. Seems those contributors have been given a lot of freedom to express. The paragraphes I remember most are:
From Jermaine: '... a lot of (Michael's) success has been due to timing - and a little bit of luck. It could have been him or it could just as easily have been me.' - What do you readers think?
From Teddy Riley, co-producer of 2300 Jackson St., Dangerous (and later albums) -
' The difference between Michael and his brother is Michael knows what he wants and the other don't. Michael prepares, he practises at home, he sleeps with the tape......'
' I'm quite sure that if Michael could have done it all over again, he would not have done that. But there's no turning back. Once you change your description, you can't turn back. You can't get your own face or your own skin back again......'

It's a 96-page book with 12 chapters plus Introduction: <1> Early days; <2> Songs, Writing and LPS: with The Jacksons and The Jacksons, Solo, producing; <3> Showtime!!; <4> Fans & Friends, People and Places; <5> Movies; <6> Lifestyle, Psychology & Philosophy; <7> The Jackson Family; <8> Motown & Producers; <9> Video directors, Musicians and Management; <10> Management and Business Deals; <11> Celebrities; <12> 1993 Update. But only the first-40 pages (the first 3 chapters) could be referred as Michael Jackson's own words.. wait.. wait.. the author Catherine Dineen also puts her own words in brackets (opinion which often leads to un-supportivity).
For those who have read 'Moonwalk', this first part seems to be quite repetition of MJ's writings in 'Moonwalk'. MJ tried to correct a few things in 'Moonwalk' as well. Unfortunately it also seems like MJ's interviews and Dineen sometimes adds MJ's quotes from other media sources that seems in his different point of views. The only updates which could differentiate from 'Moonwalk' is its last 3 pages (don't forget.. with 3 full-page MJ's photos): '1993 update' containing mainly MJ's words on various well-known rumours on Oprah Winfrey Talkshow with Dineen's pros-cons writing style (imagine she valued MJ's black armband--his lifetime devotion to children in this planet, part of his outfit in the Talkshow, is rather sinister). The rests of this book are in THEIR own words. They are his parents, his siblings, his showbiz friends, his.. his.. his.. Some of their words are quite irritating. I have read 'moonwalk' a few times and would always read it again and again enjoying MJ's story-telling writing style.. but not with this book.

first of all Michael Jackson is a civil Rights Leader&has meant more to the united States than almost anybody else over the past 50 years. I can't stand to see these Racist Magazines like Rolling stone&others call Him out of His name.it's sicking&very Unprofessional.the Man was Found Not Guilty&why are the Loaded Media rejoicing in Him leaving His Country?I'll never forget or Forgive this.He has Meant so much to People all around the World.there ain't a President or Political Figure that has moved more People than Michael Joe Jackson. all the hate&negativity against the Man is unfair.I'll always support the Brother.a Black Man should not be forced away from his Home.this is a great Book about the King of Pop.
